In August, the Tiki’s ohana—Drew Dumas, Jenni Oda, Matt Oda, Dede Tiday, Zach Hill, and Lucy Russell—joined fellow volunteers at Hawai‘i Foodbank, rolling up their sleeves to help fight hunger in our islands. Together, they sorted and packed dry goods for hours, working alongside other community members and living out Tiki’s core value of making ohana happen.

Members of the Tiki’s Grill & Bar team gather outside the Hawai‘i Foodbank before a morning of community service, continuing their tradition of aloha and giving back.

Hawai‘i Foodbank: A Lifeline for Our Community
Hawai‘i Foodbank, in partnership with 250 local hunger relief agencies, feeds approximately 170,000 people every month. Last year, that added up to more than 17.7 million meals—made possible, in part, by the efforts of over 7,000 volunteers. The Foodbank depends on individuals and groups like the Tiki’s team to sort, pack, and distribute food for families, kūpuna, keiki, and all who need an extra hand.
Living Our Core Values
At Tiki’s Grill & Bar, our mission goes beyond serving great food: we are committed to integrity, aloha, fun, and—above all—a passion to create memorable experiences for all. Through years of partnership with Hawai‘i Foodbank, our ohana has supported hundreds of food drives, donated both cash and goods, and helped raise funds and awareness for this vital cause. Team members have served in leadership roles, with partner Michael Miller even sitting on the Foodbank’s Board of Directors.
Special shout-out to past Tiki’s Ohana member Beverly Santos, who in the past was the director of the Foodbank’s food drives and events, and to Chef Ronnie and our culinary crew, who have helped host ‘Great Chefs Fight Hunger’ and donated gift cards and experiences—like our famous Mai Tai mechanics class—to help raise even more support for the Foodbank’s mission.
Why We Volunteer
Serving at the Hawai‘i Foodbank is more than a volunteer day—it’s a chance to live our core focus: premier, local hospitality, and a memorable aloha experience shared with the greater community. We are so proud of our team’s spirit and heart, and grateful for all the customers and partners who help us give back.
Mahalo nui loa to the Hawai‘i Foodbank and all who feed, serve, and support our neighbors when they need it most. If you’re interested in getting involved, learn more about volunteering at Hawaiʻi Foodbank https://www.hawaiifoodbank.org
