This intimate, 60-minute session is your chance to learn the secrets of tropical mixology directly from our expert bartenders. Limited to just 8 guests each night at 5 p.m., this is a one-of-a-kind, hands-on opportunity to go behind the bar and master the art of the perfect cocktail. It’s the ideal way to start your evening with a true craft cocktail experience.
In this class, you’ll learn to craft an iconic drink: our legendary 1944 Mai Tai. Our bartenders will guide you through each step, sharing the history and techniques that make these drinks so special. As a keepsake of your time with us, you’ll leave with a take-home 1944 Mai Tai glass, and the know-how to make the original Mai Tai and wow your friends. Nibble on Small Pupu
While the Lava Lounge does not serve dinner, we offer a selection of small pupu (appetizers) to nibble on as you enjoy your drinks. The Lava Pūpū Sampler includes Truffled Garlic Edamame, Smoked Marlin Dip, Moloka‘i Potato & Taro Chips, and Beet Hummus.
For a complete dining experience, we suggest reserving a table in our main dining room about 90 minutes after your start time at the Lava Lounge. This way, you can seamlessly transition from craft cocktails to a delicious meal. Dinner reservations are available until 9:30pm.
